A Circle Group: An Activist HR Network
A Circle
Group hosts a monthly open discussion on topics related to activist group
process and offers confidential consultations to activist organizations and grassroots initiatives.
The group consists of Portland-area activists, organizers, counselors, social
workers, and other folks with experience and skills in supporting social and
organizational wellness.
We are dedicated to a long-term exploration of several dimensions of
consensus-based, non-hierarchical, deeply democratic group processes that aim
toward social transformation, including:
- Individual well-being, motivation, direction, and meaning
- Interpersonal relations and conflict-resolution
- Meeting process, decision-making, and follow-through
- Inter-group collaboration

Consultations
To support resilient and regenerative relationships within and among
activist groups and organizations, A
Circle Group has developed a consultation
initiative.
We invite collaboration with organizations involved in progressive and radical
social transformation, including grassroots non-profit organizations,
cooperatives, activist groups, worker collectives, mobilizations, campaigns,
and other change makers.
If your group is interested in a consultation, as a first step we invite you to
dialogue with two or three members of the Circle Group as we jointly (and
confidentially) explore the needs of your organization or group. Based on
that dialogue, we will jointly plan any of the following: trainings, relational
and motivational support, skill sharing, networking opportunities, dialogue and
conversation spaces, documentation and resource development.
We can work with you either intensively or gradually over time. Our work
should not be a burden – it is intended to lighten all of our loads and to
heighten enjoyment as we create a new world!
