Eco-School Leadership Training
A free training for Earth-minded Portland elementary school parents

Learn tested tools and strategies to bring sustainable values and practices to your child’s school.  With the support of a network of parents, we can create positive change!

The four-session training is generally held in the fall, but additional ones can be added depending on interest.  To learn more, contact info@earthleaders.org or 503-227-2315.

The Portland Eco-School Network, a project of the
Center for Earth Leadership, was founded in 2008. This Network includes parents and teachers working on sustainability efforts in their respective FallHoliday_2011_to_Feb._2012_010.jpgPortland Metro elementary schools. Their ultimate goal is to assure that all aspects of life at school reflect respect for Earth.

Network members have taken the school version of the Center's Eco-School Leadership Training. During the training, they are given access to the Network’s dedicated on-line space, which consists of a forum for asking questions, resources for getting started on a project, and files of completed projects. Members strengthen bonds and learn new skills through quarterly gatherings, field trips, and an annual overnight retreat.

Network members also collaborate to lead district-wide initiatives, such as switching from
Styrofoam to washable trays in school cafeterias.
