Earth Leadership Training
An intensive noon-time seminar for those who wish to become earth leaders.

This intensive 6-session seminar is for those who wish to develop the skills necessary to become a leader for the earth.
Content to be covered
will include:
- Three primary contexts in working for a sustainable future: advanced ecological degradation, consumer culture, and economic globalization.
- Societal response to ecological degradation from human activity and the call to respond through the voices of five modern visionaries.
- Individual response: the promise and the
limitations.
- Current context and human initiatives including the environmental movement, sustainability movement, deep ecological perspective, the Natural Step framework, the economic fix, the technological fix, and the strategy focused on deep cultural change.
- State of the sustainability movement: the promise and limitations.
- Moving to a higher level of engagement.
- Practices for maintaining focus including gratitude, other sources of inspiration, eliminating distractions, alignment, hope, and the core group.
Participants: This seminar is intended for motivated individuals who wish to take a leadership role in creating a
sustainable future. Participants will be asked to complete relatively brief reading and writing assignments between sessions. Group size is limited to 12.
Facilitator: Dick
Roy, co-founder of the Center for Earth Leadership, the Northwest Earth Institute, and the Oregon Natural Step
Network.
A graduate of Harvard Law School, Dick is also founder of Oregon Lawyers
for a Sustainable Future.
