Emily Cain | Program Coordinator
Emily is a native Oregonian and graduate of Lawrence University, with a degree in
Environmental Studies and Government. After her graduation, Emily worked for the
Oregon Museum of Science and Industry as an instructor in their Outdoor
Education program, teaching all ages about the Great Northwest. Most recently, she worked
fighting for progressive causes in different parts of the country as a
community organizer. Emily is inspired by the stewardship of others and strives
in her personal life to take care of the Earth. She enjoys playing soccer,
backpacking, laughing, and sharing life and the outdoors with others.
Jill Inahara | Agent of Change Coordinator (volunteer)
Jill Inahara
graduated from Oregon
State University
in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
She first worked for Weyerhaeuser Company in Washington
and Wisconsin. She later worked for CH2M Hill and the Oregon
Department of Environmental Quality doing environmental work in air
quality. Jill now enjoys being a mom,
doing volunteer work, and gardening.
Dick Roy | Managing Director
A 1970 graduate of Harvard Law School, Dick left his practice of corporate law with Stoel Rives to join his wife Jeanne as a full-time volunteer for the earth in 1993. Together, they have launched the Center for Earth Leadership, the Northwest Earth Institute, and the Oregon Natural Step Network. At the national level, Dick served for six years on the board of the Center for a New American Dream.

Jeanne Roy | Education Director
A recognized leader in Oregon's environmental movement for 35 years, Jeanne is a co-founder of the Center for Earth Leadership, the Northwest Earth Institute, and the Oregon Natural Step Network. She served on the founding board of The Natural Step U.S. at the request of Paul Hawken. She also co-founded Recycling Advocates and Portland’s Master Recycler program, authored a weekly column on sustainable lifestyle in The Oregonian and This Week Magazine for five years, and serves as a continual advisor to public agencies on environmental policy matters.

Erin Fleming Shaw | Administrative Assistant
Erin graduated from St.
Lawrence University with a degree in Anthropology and Environmental Studies. She was born and raised in New England, and recently
relocated to Portland. Before joining the Center she volunteered
with the medical non-profit Fighting Blindness in Dublin, Ireland. Outside of the Center Erin enjoys discovering
all of the great things the Northwest has to offer.
